Taal Vista Hotel isn’t just a place to sleep; it is a soulful retreat where heritage meets contemporary comfort.

Returning to the iconic Taal Vista Hotel over the weekend reminded us why this timeless sanctuary remains the heart of Tagaytay’s history. With the unveiling of its newly renovated Lake Wing and the addition of the ultra-luxurious Presidential Villa, the hotel has elevated its legacy to breathtaking new heights.

A Refreshed Lake Wing

Entering the newly renovated Lake Wing feels instantly peaceful. Its design beautifully blends the hotel’s history with modern style. The Premier Room is bright, spacious, and comfortable. Its simple yet elegant design features softer color palettes and mood lighting, refined textures and premium fixtures, and sliding glass doors with a panoramic view.

Opening the balcony doors, the cool breeze instantly cleared my mind. In front of me was a stunning, clear view of Taal Lake and the volcano. Sitting on the balcony with a warm cup of coffee, time slowed down. It was peaceful watching the morning fog clear to reveal a bright, beautiful view of the volcano.

Sinking into the plush, incredibly comfortable bed guaranteed a restful night’s sleep, leaving us completely refreshed for the next day.

Culinary Delights at Veranda and Taza

A truly memorable staycation is incomplete without an exceptional culinary journey, and Taal Vista Hotel offers one that delights all the senses.

Breakfast at Veranda was a celebratory affair. The restaurant’s vibrant, festive atmosphere complemented an expansive buffet filled with both local heritage breakfast staples and international favorites. Savoring hot, comforting bowls of Filipino soup, freshly baked pastries, and perfectly brewed coffee while looking out at the manicured lawns was the ultimate way to greet the morning.

Returning to Veranda for a leisurely lunch, the experience was just as delightful, showcasing deeply flavorful dishes that celebrate regional ingredients and traditional recipes. On weekends, the live cultural performances add a layer of heritage that makes the meal feel more like a celebration than just lunch. It’s that familiar, laid-back Tagaytay energy: good food, captivating scenery, and a bit of history to go with your plate.

As a cool evening mist rolled in, we had dinner at Taza Fresh Table. The restaurant is known for serving excellent farm-to-table food.

We were treated to a fantastic special menu featuring flavorful mushroom soup, a fresh Taza salad, and rich prawns & squid ink pasta. We also enjoyed the roasted market fish, perfectly cooked hanger steak, and flavorful grilled turmeric chicken—all paired with refreshing juices, a sweet dessert, and warm tea.

The incredible night views of Taal Lake made the evening even more memorable. Indeed, it was a comforting dinner at Taza! A special shout-out to the Team Taza Fresh Table for their wonderful hospitality!

Every dish served told a story of freshness and sustainability, sourcing organic produce directly from nearby local farms. From the artisanal handmade pasta to the perfectly seared meats and vibrant, crisp salads, the flavors were clean, robust, and memorable.

Dining in the warm, cozy atmosphere of Taza was the perfect, romantic end to a beautiful day.
