Globe and Ortigas Malls partner to digitally transform properties

With a common goal to bring about technological development in the real estate sector, a strategic business partnership between Globe Telecom and Ortigas Malls is well underway. The ICT solutions provider and telecommunications giant commits itself to enabling the pioneering Philippine real estate company, along with its many commercial properties, through inclusive connectivity, digital innovations, and sustainability efforts.

Globe came into this year-long tie-up to redefine every Ortigas Malls’ customer experience, provide them with products relevant to their daily lives, and offer them online and onsite solutions—all to augment Ortigas Malls and Ortigas Community Card memberships by 2024.

“Our partnership with Ortigas Malls is focused on contributing to community building and helping the Philippine economy gain momentum towards the ‘Better Normal.’ Together with Ortigas Malls, we want to be able to provide every Filipino with digital solutions and services to help them regain their footing, be it in their personal lives or their careers, and to also ensure that all our endeavors are aligned with our sustainability programs,” said Raymond Policarpio, Vice President for Product Management and Marketing at Globe Business, Enterprise Group.

Exclusive Promos for Ortigas Community Cardholders

To enhance the club members’ customer experience, Globe will provide Ortigas Community Cardholders with premier GPlan mobile postpaid deals that aim to give them more value for their money. Customers will also be able to receive exclusive discounts on Globe At Home broadband products, so they can enjoy dynamic internet bundles, stronger connections, and even free internet speed boosts.

Easy and Convenient Transactions through GCash

In partnership with Ortigas Malls, cash-in machines will be deployed across various malls so that customers can easily add funds to their GCash wallets. These cash-in machines will double as e-loading and bill payment stations to diversify customers’ options for convenient transactions. Customers can also enjoy cashless QR payments through GCash Scan-to-Pay when they shop and dine in Ortigas Malls establishments. On top of all that, they can look forward to in-mall events and promos that GCash and the Ortigas Malls will launch together.

Free Internet Connectivity with Globe GoWiFi

Another feature that is set to enhance the customers’ mall journey is the installation of free GoWiFi in the common areas of Ortigas Malls. GoWiFi gives the public access to up to 60 minutes of free internet per mobile device every day. This service is available in Greenhills Mall, Tiendesitas, Capitol Commons and Estancia Mall; and Industria Mall.

Responsible Electronic Waste Recycling Initiatives with Globe E-Waste Zero (EWZ) Program

Last but not the least, Globe and Ortigas Malls’ partnership envisions the entire Ortigas community going green through responsible electronic waste (e-waste) management. Community members can request door-to-door hauling of bulky and multiple bulky e-wastes by filling out a form on the Globe website: www.globe.com.ph/about-us/sustainability/environment.

Shortly, select Ortigas Malls and establishments will be equipped to make life easier for consumers. “We are truly excited about this monumental partnership with Globe. And there are so many surprises in store for all our mall-goers and Ortigas Community Cardholders—all anchored on digital solutions and sustainability initiatives that the entire Ortigas community can look forward to and participate in,” shared Arch. Renee C. Bacani, Vice President of Ortigas Malls.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 9, which highlights the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development, and UN SDG No. 12, which promotes responsible consumption and production to achieve economic growth and sustainable development while reducing our environmental impact. Fun and vibrant COVID pediatric vaccination drive

The City of Firsts hosted on Sunday, February 20, Quezon City’s inoculation of almost 3,000 kids in a vibrant and entertaining vaccination drive at the New Frontier Theater.

The Araneta Group, through the arrangements of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), has allowed the city government to use the historic theater for free to assist in the faster rollout of COVID-19 vaccines for minors.

The vaccination site was festooned with balloons and other festive decors to amuse the vaccinees’ ages 5 to 11 years old. Mascots and balloon twisters provided entertainment to the children, and giveaways were distributed as a reward for a ‘jab’ well done.

“With Araneta City being a center of leisure and entertainment, we want to incorporate this to the experience of our young vaccinees. This way, they will be less anxious and stressed before and after they receive their COVID jabs,” according to Marjorie Go, AVP for Marketing of Araneta City.

To secure the observance of safety and health protocols, marshalls were deployed in the area to implement proper social distancing. Upon entry to the theater, vaccinees and their guardians underwent temperature checks and other sanitation procedures.

Through JAAF, the Araneta Group also partnered with the city government in administering COVID vaccines for adults and free RT-PCR tests for the general public. Since the pandemic hit the country in 2020, the company has put in place safety protocols to keep its businesses safe for its employees and customers with its slogan “Safety First at the City of Firsts”.

Upskilling online scholars via digital citizenship, WiFi 101 lessons

Globe, through Globe University, is providing scholars of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Online Program (TOP) with relevant content on the basics of WiFi and digital citizenship.

The collaboration aims to help students upskill and develop competencies essential to keep up with drastic changes in today’s world– a goal aligned with Globe University’s aim of upgrading the skills of the company’s 8,000-strong workforce. Through the university, Globe employees have been able to access learning materials online since the start of the pandemic.

In line with its vision to become a digital solutions group within the next three years, Globe encourages the use of technology and online platforms to enrich Filipinos’ life experiences.  It shares TESDA’s vision to make its services on tech-voc training more accessible through technology-based initiatives.

“At this time when online learning plays an integral part in Filipinos’ lives, there is great value in understanding how connectivity works and how our citizens can protect themselves online. With this partnership with TESDA, we believe that our learning modules can help our fellow Filipinos better leverage connectivity in their daily lives as well as objectively discern information they come across on social media,” said Berns Bernardo, Head of Globe University.

The latest Labor Force Survey of the Philippine Statistics Authority shows a 6.5% unemployment rate in November 2021. While the figure was the lowest since the height of the pandemic, it is still a major labor gap at 3.16 million unemployed.

This situation underscores the importance of providing employment support for those without work or people with jobs but do not fit their qualifications.

TOP fills this need by providing free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for Filipino workers’ technical education and skills development. Being on a web platform, the courses are also an effective and efficient way to deliver tech-voc education and training in the learner’s own space and time.

TOP scholars will have access to modules that tackle factors that affect Wi-Fi connection at home, and simple troubleshooting that can be done to optimize their experience. WiFi 101 is among topics covered under TESDA’s broadband installation course to help trainees learn WiFi fundamentals.

They can also access Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP), which has modules designed to train learners, parents, and educators on digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible Internet use.

From the onset of the pandemic to date, there are already 3.2 million registrants on TOP.

Interested parties can register online through the TOP website at https://e-tesda.gov.ph.

Globe strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 4, which ensures inclusive and equitable quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for all.
