The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), through the 37th edition of Gawad Alternatibo, hosts a special screening of BACKSTAGE PASS SEASON 3: The Pillars of the House on October 9, 2025, 2 p.m., at Cinema 2 of Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-La Plaza in Makati City.

Backstage Pass Season 3: The Pillars of the House, under the direction of Joseph Mangat, puts the spotlight on a seasoned production manager, a visual arts installation staff, Front-of-House personnel and other support workers. The film offers an intimate glimpse into their commitment to their jobs within the ambit of a production.

As the CCP marked their 55th anniversary milestone with the Gawad CCP Para sa Sining, honoring outstanding Filipino artists and cultural workers in 2024, Mangat’s Backstage Pass Season 3: The Pillars of the House documents the painstaking, yet rewarding, preparations through candid interviews, archival footage, and behind-the-scenes commentary.

In this documentary, Mangat skillfully navigates the delicate balance of guiding the audience and ensuring the seamless flow of the program. The focus falls on the front-of-house team and ushers, alongside CCP’s production manager Dominique G. Torres and Orlando Jarme Jr. from the Visual Arts and Museum Division. Head of the CCP’s Production and Exhibition Department Ariel Yonzon, who began as an usher at the institution, spearheads the film’s narrative set against the backdrop of the CCP’s ongoing rehabilitation.

Dining at Okada Manila is an experience in itself, and we were eager to explore its renowned restaurants. Our first stop was Goryeo, where Korean cuisine took center stage. The grill tables were a hit with my family, and we indulged in a feast of marinated meats and flavorful side dishes. The restaurant serves a variety of tasty banchan, high-quality meats for grilling, and classic dishes that highlight the unique flavors of Korea. The staff’s attentive service was commendable.

For dinner, we dined at Enbu, the hotel’s signature Japanese restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the elegant ambiance and the aroma of its specialties. Each dish, from the expertly prepared sushi to the tender robatayaki, was a celebration of authentic flavors.

Enbu’s robata counters are both stylish and welcoming, drawing your attention as soon as you enter. Guests are invited to sit and watch skilled chefs use classic Japanese methods to slow-grill top-quality meats and local produce over charcoal. This creates dishes that are perfectly charred, full of flavor, and rich with smoky aromas. As you enjoy your meal, you can also take in views of The Fountain from your seat.

The next day, we had breakfast at Medley, Okada Manila’s buffet restaurant. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, perfect for families ready to start their day together. Medley is renowned for its impressive spread of international cuisines, featuring open kitchens and live cooking stations where chefs prepare fresh dishes before your eyes. From made-to-order omelets and fluffy pancakes to a tempting selection of pastries, sushi,  taho, and Filipino favorites, there was something to satisfy every palate. The spacious layout, attentive staff, and kid-friendly options made breakfast a memorable and delicious experience for everyone.

The G Fair Awards recognized standout SMEs for their breakthrough innovations and commitment to championing sustainability in their business. The event also featured electrifying performances by rising artists FINIX and SYNC and concluded with exciting raffle prizes from Philippine Airlines, GCash, and Lazada.

Following last year’s strong turnout, G Fair 2025 further cemented its role as a catalyst for Filipino SMEs to grow and connect with wider audiences. Conrad Manila presents the 37th edition of its esteemed ‘Of Art and Wine’ Series with a compelling group exhibition titled “Her Hands: A Loom of Stories”, running from September 16 to November 15, 2025, in collaboration with Space_Alt Contemporary. Showcasing 34 works of seven female contemporary artists, namely: Kristine de Jesus, Anita del Rosario, Jane Ebarle, Mia Go, Katrina Raimann, Anina Rubio, and Maria Salvador, this new collection at the hotel’s Gallery C celebrates the artistry of weaving, through textile art, sculpture, and mixed media.

Her Hands: A Loom of Stories” emphasizes weaving, not only as a craft, but also as a vessel of memory, identity, and connection. Historically, this form of art is a profound expression of creativity and cultural identity, intricately linked to the role of women. Women have long been the custodians of this tradition, passing down techniques and stories through generations, preserving heritage and fostering community bonds.

Taal Vista Hotel has officially been recognized as a Tourism Pillar Awardee at the inaugural Philippine Tourism Awards, one of the highest honors in the country’s tourism sector. The awarding ceremony was held on 8 September 2025 at Okada Manila, where the hotel’s delegation—General Manager Ramon Makilan, Director of Sales & Marketing Mary Rose Lomibao, and Cluster MarComm Manager Faith Dimaano—accepted the accolade with pride.
