Meaning, Opportunity, and Music Unite at the Philippine Disability Expo 2025

Led by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), the expo brings together advocates, organizations, allies, and community members in a dynamic, collaborative, and empowering space.

In celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), in partnership with the Project Inclusion Network (PIN) and the Philippine Business and Disability Network (PBDN), proudly presents the Philippine Disability Expo 2025, happening on December 2–4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Megatrade Hall 1 & 2, SM Megamall, Metro Manila.

The Expo stands as one of the country’s major gatherings dedicated to advancing disability inclusion by recognizing the diverse contributions of persons with disabilities (PWDs) across workplaces, communities, and the creative sector. Led by the NCDA, the expo brings together advocates, organizations, allies, and community members in a dynamic, collaborative, and empowering space.

Instead of functioning as a job fair or recruitment event, the Philippine Disability Expo 2025 highlights learning, collaboration, and the exchange of practical insights on accessibility and inclusive employment. Through guided discussions, workshops, and shared experiences, participants gain a deeper understanding of how to create supportive, adaptive, and equitable work environments.

Across the three-day event, guests may explore exhibits featuring up to 80 participating organizations, including enterprises, PWD-led businesses, advocacy groups, government agencies, and institutions showcasing inclusive programs, accessible solutions, and innovations that promote participation and empowerment.

Culminating the celebration on December 4 at 7:00 PM is the #PwedengPWDe Dito! A Benefit Concert, produced by PIN and PBDN. The concert will feature performances by PWD artists alongside Filipino acts such as Leanne & Naara, Sugarcane, and I Belong to the Zoo. It aims to highlight creativity, visibility, and representation by showing that inclusion involves opportunity, participation, culture, and community presence. All concert proceeds will support projects and programs that advance opportunities and improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities.

Through the Expo and Concert, NCDA, PIN, and PBDN reaffirm their shared commitment to fostering equal opportunity, strengthening cross-sector collaboration, and honoring the stories, skills, and leadership of the disability community. Together, they continue to move toward a society where PWDs are recognized not for their limitations, but for their potential, artistry, and impact.

For media inquiries or partnership opportunities, contact Nieva Repolona, Event Public Relations Head (PIN), at disabilityexpo@projectinclusion.ph or 0977-819-3249.

French Film Festival Returns for its 28th Edition

The Embassy of France in the Philippines and Micronesia in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Cinema present the 28th edition of the French Film Festival, Manila’s annual rendezvous for lovers of global cinema. Some of the most dynamic and forward-looking line up of French films will be shown in SM Aura and SM City Manila Cinemas from November 24 to 30.

For almost three decades, the French Film Festival has been a gateway for Filipino audiences to experience French culture through a diverse slate of films: bold, intimate, and thought-provoking.

This year, the French Film Festival embraces a new era of collaboration, cultural exchange, and creative synergy as it shines a spotlight on French-Filipino co-productions, feminist storytelling, and the expansive world of animation.

Feminist Cinema and Strong Female Voices with Guest French Actress

In continuation of France’s Feminist diplomacy and the direction set in 2024 under French Ambassador Marie Fontanel, the 28th French Film Festival places women, and women’s narratives at the forefront. This year’s programming celebrates visionary female filmmakers, powerful stories of womanhood, and narratives that spark dialogue on equality, identity, and resilience.

A rising French actress globally recognized for her intense, layered performances and recent collaboration with major Hollywood talents is set to join the Festival as a special guest, adding to the excitement. She will lead conversations after select screenings of three films that highlight feminist themes, from courage and independence to the fight for representation in sports, society, and culture.

Animation Takes the Spotlight

The French Film Festival further expands its creative horizons through animated storytelling. In partnership with the Animation Council of the Philippines, audiences can look forward to ANIMAHENASYON (November 25–26) at Samsung Hall, SM Aura, featuring screenings, talks, and an awards night celebrating the vibrancy of animated filmmaking.

Animated works such as Amélie et la Métaphysique des Tubes, La Plus Précieuse des Marchandises, and Maya Donne-moi un titre showcase the artistry, wonder, and emotional depth of French animation.

A Rich and Diverse Lineup

This year’s curated selection spans newly released features, beloved classics, animated titles, and cross-cultural collaborations. Films include:

  • Partir un jour by Amélie Bonnin (2025)
  • 13 jours 13 nuits by Martin Bourboulon (2025)
  • La Petite Dernière by Hafsia Herzi (2025)
  • Coutures by Alice Winocour (2026)
  • Elsewhere at Night by Marianne Métivier (2025)
  • Dracula by Luc Besson (2025)
  • La Plus Précieuse des Marchandises by Michel Hazanavicius (2024)
  • Le Roi et l’Oiseau by Paul Grimault (1980)
  • Le Pharaon by Michel Ocelot (2022)
  • Call My Agent (Erik Matti) and Dix pour cent (Cédric Klapisch)

More French film titles will feature fresh talent, heritage stories, and global perspectives.

A Historic Milestone: France and the Philippines Sign Co-Production Agreement, Cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines

One of the French Film Festival’s defining highlights is the landmark Co-Production Agreement signed on May 14 at the Cannes Film Festival. This long-awaited partnership between France and the Philippines paves the way for deeper collaborations between filmmakers, expanding opportunities for local and international distribution and enriching cultural understanding between the two nations.

To bring this milestone to life, the Festival is hosting a two-day Co-Production Conference on November 27–28 at SM Samsung Hall, Meeting Room 1, SMX Aura, in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and France’s National Center for Cinema and Animation (CNC). The conference will gather French and Filipino producers, directors, and industry experts, fostering new creative relationships and future film projects.

As a nod to recent collaborative success, the French Film Festival will screen the Filipino adaptation Call My Agent, shown back-to-back with its beloved French original, Dix pour cent.

With Alliance Française de Manille and Universities

Screenings continue from December 1–6 at the Alliance Française de Manille, with special programs also held at UPFI (November 25–26) and Benilde School of Design and Arts (November 28).

A Festival That Continues to Inspire

Now in its 28th year, the French Film Festival remains a fixture in Manila’s cultural calendar, uniting cinema lovers, industry professionals, students, and storytellers alike. Beyond showcasing films, it serves as a vibrant platform for conversation, collaboration, and artistic discovery.

This year, it invites audiences to experience the richness of French cinema, the strength of women’s stories, the promise of French-Filipino co-creation, and the boundless possibilities of animation.

For the 28th French Film Festival screenings, at SM Aura and SM City Manila, admission is free. For schedules and information on the festival events, visit the French Embassy’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FrenchEmbassyPH.

Eastwood Richmonde Hotel Celebrates 15 Years of Homegrown Hospitality

Anchored on the theme “15 and Beyond: Forward Filipino Hospitality,” the occasion was a homage to the hotel’s proud homegrown roots and a humble celebration of the hotel’s accomplishments through the years as it embraces more initiatives that promote our country’s culture.

Eastwood Richmonde Hotel (ERH) recently commemorated its 15th anniversary alongside its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony through a simple yet heartfelt gathering of longtime patrons, media partners, and esteemed guests.

Anchored on the theme “15 and Beyond: Forward Filipino Hospitality,” the occasion was a homage to the hotel’s proud homegrown roots and a humble celebration of the hotel’s accomplishments through the years as it embraces more initiatives that promote our country’s culture.

Jun Justo, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts NCR+ Cluster General Manager and ERH General Manager, opened the event by recounting how ERH set the blueprint for Megaworld Corporation and its township developments by being the first hotel in its very first mixed-use community, Eastwood City. The AVP that followed then paid tribute to the hotel’s dedicated employees, or Enrichers as they are called, and how through their hard work and dedication, have shaped Richmonde’s distinct warm and accommodating service.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The night continued with congratulatory messages from the distinguished guests of honor which included Megaworld Corporation President and CEO Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, Department of Tourism Undersecretary Maria Rica Bueno, Head of the Investment Services Division of Quezon City Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office Jong Sumpiaco, representing Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte, and Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts (MHR) Cleofe Albiso. They acknowledged ERH’s influence on local tourism, community development, and the hospitality landscape, highlighting its contributions to the city’s economy and cultural preservation through MHR’s very own unique and authentic Filipino brand of service, the Sampaguita, and its implementation of sustainable and inclusive tourism practices.

Capping the anniversary program was the celebratory toast led by MHR Group General Manager Art Boncato, followed by the traditional countdown to the lighting of the hotel’s Christmas tree and its custom-made Sampaguita-inspired Capiz lantern to officially signal the start of the holiday season in the hotel.

Providing delightfully nostalgic entertainment was Harana, a group of singing professionals and alumni of La Salle’s Kundirana. Their renditions of well-loved OPM songs and Christmas carols added to the festive atmosphere.

The celebration then shifted to Eastwood Café+Bar, where a meticulously crafted six-course dinner prepared by MHR Corporate Chef Panky Lopez and ERH Executive Chef Peter Paluga awaited the guests. The menu included Salmon Sinigang Steak and Caldereta Tiger Pie, just some of the hotel’s creative and modern takes on all-time favorite Filipino dishes.

As Richmonde looks ahead to the next 15 years and more, it reaffirms its commitment to delivering meaningful and mindful stays, enriching experiences, and purposeful and thoughtful hospitality that is welcoming to all.

Passion, Purpose, and Progress Shine at Globe’s G Fair 2025 Awards

As part of the 917 GDay 2025 celebrations, Globe Business turned the spotlight on Filipino entrepreneurs whose businesses prove that passion and purpose can go hand in hand. The first-ever G Fair Awards honored local SME partners not only for what they sell, but for the values they stand for: innovation, community, and sustainability.

“Through G Fair, we see how small businesses bring innovation, heart, and resilience to every challenge,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer. “The winners remind us that success is not just about growth, but about the impact you create for people and the planet.”

KD Dizon, Head of Globe Business, added: “These entrepreneurs embody the courage to innovate and the commitment to do better. Their success inspires others to scale their business and amplify their positive impact in the communities they serve.”

For two days, G Fair served as a dynamic platform for local businesses. It transformed into a stage where stories of grit and creativity came to life, offering inspiration to entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners alike.

Brewing Passion Into Progress

The Breakthrough Award went to H Proper Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee roastery born from one man’s search for the perfect cup. What started as a personal passion project is now a growing business where every detail, from sourcing green beans at origin to perfecting roast profiles, carries the founder’s uncompromising standards. Judges recognized H Proper not only for its craft, but also for demonstrating that when entrepreneurs pour themselves fully into their work, they can carve out a distinct place in a competitive industry.

Winning Hearts Through Authentic Craft

The People’s Choice Award was given to The Good Poison, a premium iced tea brand that has captured the public’s imagination in less than a year since launch. Crafted with real brewed tea and fresh fruit, every bottle speaks of mindful sourcing and a dedication to quality. Consumers’ votes showed that when a product is rooted in authenticity, customers respond with loyalty and trust.

Lighting the Way for Sustainable Practice

The Sustainability Champion Award was awarded to Lumi Candles PH, a homegrown brand that has turned a small hobby into a movement. Known for its soy candles and refillable home essentials, Lumi doesn’t just sell décor, it advocates for responsible consumption. Its booth at G Fair demonstrated waste-reduction practices, while its ongoing support for non-profit organizations shows that businesses of any scale can spark social change. Globe recognized Lumi for championing sustainability across both their digital presence and on-ground activation, based on their reduced environmental impact, ethical and responsible business practices, and long-term commitment to sustainability.

By celebrating these awardees, Globe underscores its commitment to nurturing SMEs as catalysts of inclusive and sustainable growth. G Fair is an invitation for entrepreneurs to share their stories, for customers to support local businesses, and for communities to thrive together.

As Globe looks ahead, the call is clear: the next wave of Filipino SMEs is ready to step forward, and Globe Business is here to support them in their digital transformation journey.

A Weekend to Remember: Celebrating Family and Festivity at Park Inn by Radisson Clark

Guests came together to celebrate 10 years of great service, and the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in the hotel lobby – a moment of shared joy, a reminder of the magic that the holiday season brings.

Last weekend, my family and I went on a staycation at Park Inn by Radisson Clark, a hotel that felt more like a celebration of family, joy, and togetherness than just a place to stay. Park Inn is in a great spot, just steps from SM City Clark and the SMX Convention Center, so it’s both comfortable and convenient. Right from the start, we felt welcomed by the warm atmosphere and the friendly staff, who greeted us with genuine smiles. Our room was modern and cozy, with thoughtful touches for families and a beautiful view of the city lights.

Modern and cozy room for a family of three.

What made this staycation even more special was that it happened during Park Inn by Radisson Clark’s 10th anniversary celebration. There was a real sense of excitement as guests came together to celebrate 10 years of great service. That night, the hotel was decorated for the occasion, the smell of fresh food filled the air, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Celebratory toast!

What truly set this weekend apart was the feeling of community and celebration. The 10th anniversary festivities were heartfelt, with speeches from Ms. Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels & Convention Corp. (SMHCC), Atty. Agnes Devanadera, President and CEO of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Mayor Gerald “Geld” Aquino of Mabalacat, Pampanga, and Mr. Lorenzo Tang, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Clark. The milestone celebration was graced by Ms. Elizabeth Sy, the president of SMHCC. The hotel management and staff, lively performances, and a delightful spread of food completed the celebration.

Stunning performances!

Another highlight of our weekend was the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony in the hotel lobby. It was more than just a display of lights; it was a moment of shared joy, a reminder of the magic that the holiday season brings.

Celebrating the joy of the season as a family.

Throughout our stay, we took full advantage of the hotel’s proximity to SM City Clark. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll to the mall, indulging in some shopping and sampling local delicacies at the food court. For those seeking business or event venues, the SMX Convention Center is conveniently nearby, making Park Inn an ideal choice for both leisure and work.

Excellent dining experience at Hues restaurant located in the ground floor of the hotel.

As we checked out on Sunday, my family agreed that Park Inn by Radisson Clark had given us more than just a place to rest. It had offered us memories, joy, and a sense of belonging. Our staycation was a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the best adventures are found not far from home, but in the company of loved ones and friends, surrounded by warmth and celebration.
