Business Meets Bliss at Boracay Newcoast

Sun, sea, and powdery white sand may be the first things that grab a traveler’s attention, but Boracay also has the essentials to be the  prime location for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) in the Philippines.

Hotels in the National Capital Region (NCR) are still the preferred choice for hosting events. However, recent surveys indicate a promising trend for Megaworld Hotels and Resorts (MHR), with their Boracay properties ranking as the third most popular option. Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director for MHR, says, “Our Savoy Hotel Boracay and Belmont Hotel Boracay have hosted several MICE groups starting 2023, which is a very encouraging sign for the recovery of the island.”

With the Boracay MICE business landscape gaining momentum, the tourism sector is now beyond the recovery phase and optimistic about continued growth in travel. Meetings such as pharmaceutical conventions, the ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting, and the Prosecutors League of the Philippines Convention have all been recently held in Boracay. “After the pandemic, we are glad the domestic market patronized our island, but we are also hoping that our MICE organizers will consider Boracay as their new option for a MICE destination,” she said.

Boracay Newcoast is a perfect example of why Boracay should be the first choice when planning MICE. Aside from having a beautiful private beach, Megaworld’s integrated tourism destination on the northeast side of the island has the modern Boracay Newcoast Convention Center (BNCC) nestled within it. It has versatile function spaces that can be customized to meet an event’s needs, and with a maximum capacity of 1,000 persons for theater-type seating and 750 persons for banquet set-up, it meets the average seating requirements of medium and large-scale conventions and conferences. Fully air-conditioned, with an all-important 100% backup power supply, BNCC has reliable internet connectivity and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment. Albiso said that in fitting out the convention center, MHR took into consideration the major requirements of events, including social banquets and large weddings— thus, BNCC’s 9-meter-high ceiling allows organizers to have more room to be creative with their designs and layouts.

The convention center is also walkable from Boracay Newcoast’s hotels— Savoy Hotel Boracay and Belmont Hotel Boracay. This also means that guests are just steps away from the township’s private white beach. Just imagine, drinks on the beach after the afternoon plenary or perhaps an early morning walk on its fine, white sand before the convention day begins.

Savoy Hotel Boracay Function Room Classroom Set up.

These BNC properties, once its soon-to-launch new hotel officially opens its doors, will collectively have more than 1,500 room keys, an array of dining options to please the palates of local and international guests, and plenty of recreational activities to enjoy with family and friends.  “The versatile event spaces – both indoor and outdoor – at Savoy Hotel Boracay, Belmont Hotel Boracay, and BNCC are designed to meet the needs of every occasion,” says Maia Israel, Area General Manager for Boracay Newcoast properties and president for Boracay MICE Alliance.

MHR hotels handle the banquet requirements for BNCC. Their culinary teams are fully equipped to ensure that clients’ dietary requirements, with BNC taking pride in having a Halal-certification, and food preferences are met by delivering tasty meals inspired by a variety of local and international cuisines. Both hotels also excel in creating themed banquet packages fit for any type of event. Aside from the classic Luau and Filipino fiesta, their teams have planned and executed themes that run the gamut from Bohemian to Karaoke, dinners under the stars, and street eats, with package inclusions such as an exhilarating fire dance, soothing acoustic performances, or a live DJ performance.

While Boracay is primarily known for leisure travels, corporate agenda also thrives because when bliss and business come together, only the best MICE events can come from that synergy.

For Meetings, Incentives, Corporate, and Events inquiries at Savoy Hotel Boracay and Belmont Hotel Boracay, interested parties may contact reserve@savoyboracay.com or stay@belmontboracay.com.ph, respectively.

The Adventure Continues: Our Family’s Exciting Trip to Switzerland

In part 2 of the feature, the writer and her family explore the captivating wonders of Switzerland. They journey through enchanting destinations like Lucerne and Zermatt, marvel at the breathtaking Glacier Paradise in the Swiss Alps, discover the vibrant spirit of Zurich, and savor the rich flavors of local cuisine.

Contributed by Dana Angela Belo

Ruby’s Precious Moments 6th Anniversary Special Feature (Part 2)

The first few days in Switzerland ignited a deep sense of adventure, leaving us yearning for more of its breathtaking scenery and vibrant culture. Although we battled lingering feelings of sickness from the chilly, unpredictable weather, we refused to let that dampen our spirits. With determination in our hearts, we enthusiastically set about planning our next day’s journey, eager to explore all that this enchanting country had to offer.

 Lost in Luzern

Our next destination was the city of Luzern or Lucerne in French. As usual, we left Zermatt early to maximize time exploring Luzern. Despite this, I was never groggy during our trip. The wind blew colder each day, it would surely wake you up each morning. Despite my enjoying the cold, I am not used to this kind of climate. I got sick and had a hard time recovering as I would at home since the air was dry and freezing. Nevertheless, I chose not to stay at the apartment for fear of missing out.

The train ride was always a time for me to start my day, as my eyes slowly started opening, the sun would slowly peek over the Alps and turn everything a glistening white. As we approach Luzern, things become more urban, there are more buildings, and houses are rarely made of wood now, like they were in Zermatt. But Luzern is not purely urbanized, instead, it offers you the best of both worlds. Just like in Bern, old buildings tower over you as you walk the streets of the beautiful city, and in some areas, you see modern structures like museums and offices.

Upon exiting the station, a beautiful welcome arc will welcome you to the city. To the right of the station, you would see a museum which was unfortunately closed when we visited. You can also ride a ferry to see the rest of the city, although we opted not to since it was hazy during winter.

Like other cities in Switzerland, Luzern is full of churches which are worth visiting. Luzern has a Franciscan church and a Jesuit church, which are just a few minutes from each other. The city is also famous for its Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrüke), which is considered the oldest wooden bridge in Europe, dating back to the 14th century. The bridge is filled with paintings and offers a great view of the River Reuss.

We also visited the famous lion monument, which commemorates the Swiss guardsmen who died in 1792 during the French Revolution. The monument is carved into the living rock of a cliff. Just beside the monument is the Glacier Garden, which you can visit after you take pictures of the lion monument.

Luzern is a pretty walkable city, which you can explore with the guide of a map, you can get to the tourist office at the train station near Migros. This map will help you explore the city more easily as it points out the location of each landmark, making it easier for you to navigate and plan your day accordingly. As pretty as Luzern may be, we had to leave and ride a train back to Zermatt.

Feeling on Top of the World at Zermatt

Our next agenda for this trip was the most awaited trip up to the Alps. We pre-booked our Glacier Paradise tickets online as it was the most in-demand activity in Zermatt. The experience comes with a cable car up the Swiss Alps, offering you a great view of the Matterhorn mountain. This is also a skier’s paradise, and you would most likely ride up the mountains with them. Despite being lightheaded from the sudden increase in altitude, I did not want to miss the spectacular view from the viewing deck, which gives you a glorious view of various mountains and countries like Italy. We were unable to visit the ice sculptures inside. It was too slippery and I was too lightheaded to walk straight. So we decided to go back down and spend the day resting back at the apartment.

Since the Glacier Paradise experience only takes about half the day, we decided to explore Zermatt more after resting a bit in the apartment. We also got to try the famous cheese fondue at the Zermatterstübli, which is a Swiss favorite during wintertime. The cheese fondue itself had a strong flavor and a strong aftertaste of wine, with pieces of bread dipped in the gooey cheese. You can also add some potatoes and even get cheese that has herbs in it for a nice hint of flavor. After a nice dinner, we headed back inside the warm apartment and called it a day.

Exploring Zurich

The last city we went to was the famous city of Zurich, the largest city in the country. The city is set by the lake, which adds to its magical flair. Just like in Luzern, there are tons of churches in Zurich, and its streets are a mix of modern and classic. We spent the day walking its stone streets and window shopping, which left us hungry and craving for rice since the majority of the food we ate on our trip was bread. Luckily, we found a shop near the local police station which served hot and delicious Mediterranean food. Since it was winter, most of the food we ate either turned cold quickly or was served cold, so it was a treat to be eating hot meals, especially those that included rice.

After eating lunch, we set off to find the colorful street of Augustinergasse, which is considered one of the most beautiful historical, narrow streets in the city. We took some pictures and headed for the Lindt museum. However, the Lindt Museum was too far and a lot of people were visiting as well, so we opted to explore more of the city instead. We found ourselves searching for the University of Zurich, which boasts brilliant alumni like Albert Einstein himself.

It was quite difficult to find without a map and every building looked like it could be the university. After quite a long walk around the city and a long walk up what felt like 500 steps of stairs, we finally made it to the University of Zurich. At first glance, the university felt a bit small, only having one large building for everything. But as we walked farther behind the large building, we noticed that the university area extended farther into a large compound. Imagine the University of the Philippines, but freezing cold. After a quick stop to rest at a bus stop, we went back to the train station and headed back to Zermatt.

Leaving Switzerland

Switzerland is too beautiful to miss. Its stunning views of the Swiss Alps, snow-covered streets, and the kindness of its people will surely make you want to stay.

However, all good things must come to an end. As we boarded our final train from Zermatt station, we took in the breathtaking sights of the surrounding mountains, hoping that this wouldn’t be our last glimpse of them.

The Legacy Continues: Richmonde Hotel Ortigas Celebrates 26 Years of Shaping Future Hospitality Leaders

At Richmonde Hotel Ortigas (RHO), leaders aren’t just hired—they are cultivated. For 26 years, the hotel has been more than just a workplace for its employees; it has been a training ground for aspiring hoteliers who have grown into leaders through hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and a culture that values potential over tenure. This enduring commitment to nurturing talent has shaped a remarkable legacy—one that continues to thrive through the success stories of individuals who started with humble beginnings and now hold key management positions.

Since opening its doors in 1999, RHO has been a gold mine for diamonds in the rough. Over the years, many have discovered their passion and honed their craft within its walls. Some have moved on to pursue new endeavors, while others have stayed and grown with the brand. As the hotel celebrates its 26th anniversary, it not only reflects on its legacy as a trusted name in Philippine hospitality but also honors its employees whose careers it has shaped.

Cluster General Manager for NCR+ of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts Jun Justo.

Today, an impressive 85% of the hotel’s managerial team is made up of homegrown talents—17 out of 20 managers and department heads who have climbed the ranks since working at Richmonde. Jun Justo, current Cluster General Manager for NCR+ of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts (MHR) and concurrent General Manager of Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, exemplifies this success story. A former Rooms Division Manager at RHO in 2007, he became Hotel Manager at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel in 2010 but has remained involved with RHO with his appointment as Cluster Director of Operations for Richmonde Hotels in 2015 and now Cluster GM for MHR. “It has always been Richmonde’s culture to nurture talent,” he says. “At the hiring stage, we give more weight to a person’s potential and character than their work experience. Building leaders from within didn’t start as a conscious effort or a formal policy—it happened naturally as needs arose, roles changed, and people stepped up.”

Now under the management of MHR, RHO continues this legacy with renewed purpose. Methodical training programs, mentorship, and on-the-job coaching complement the culture of trust and empowerment that has long been its hallmark. “With the Richmonde brand now under the MHR umbrella, our talents are no longer limited to opportunities within the property,” shares current General Manager Oliver Esguerra. “They now have a bigger stage to grow and take on leadership roles within the expanding MHR portfolio.”

For Annie Dioso, Cluster Director of Communications for the Richmonde Hotels group, who began her journey as Executive Assistant in 2000, the company’s confidence in its people and the team-oriented environment played a crucial role in her development. “The trust and support given by management, coupled with the cooperation and assistance from other managers and associates, make Richmonde a great place for career growth,” she shares. “As the industry evolves, new positions emerge and new skills are needed. When this happens, Richmonde always looks within its pool to fill those gaps, giving all employees equal chances for career development—or at the very least, the chance to hone their talents.”

This culture of support and collaboration is something Myca Bonoan, now Assistant Director of Sales, experienced firsthand. She joined in 2020 as a Sales Executive, just before the pandemic lockdown. “Richmonde is an ideal place for both personal and professional development. The supportive and collaborative team encourages learning, and the company fosters a culture of excellence and professionalism,” she says. “Because of that, I was given opportunities to grow and take on leadership roles even during challenging times.” She also credits her growth to the values she learned at Richmonde: “Commitment to exceptional hospitality and customer service, strong teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced industry.” Looking ahead, Myca sees herself giving back to the next wave of hotel professionals. “I hope to mentor and share knowledge with new team members, help them grow, and continue to innovate to improve guest experiences and operational efficiency.”

For Axel Zapanta, now PMD Manager who began as an HR Assistant in 2017, the encouraging environment at Richmonde is what stands out most. “Richmonde Ortigas empowers its employees to strive for excellence,” he says. “It fosters a culture where innovation is not only encouraged but actively executed, making every achievement truly rewarding.”

The team of managers and Department Heads of Richmonde Hotel Ortigas.

As Richmonde Hotel Ortigas commemorates its 26th year, it celebrates not just its success as a business, but its people—the heartbeat and driving force of the hotel. With a strong foundation built on faith, dedication, and teamwork, the hotel remains steadfast in its mission to shape the next generation of hospitality leaders.

Discover Sabang Beach This Summer: Enjoy a Comfortable Stay at Four Points Palawan

On sunny days, Sabang Beach, located on the western coast of Palawan, offers a glimpse of an untouched tropical paradise. While it’s the gateway to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (30 minutes away by boat), the beach remains uncrowded, embodying why Palawan is known as the Philippines’ “last frontier.”

While many travelers stay in Puerto Princesa City, Sabang Beach offers a unique appeal. For those who love nature and adventure during the day and seek comfort at night, there’s a Four Points by Sheraton hotel by the beach.

Four Points by Sheraton

Four Points by Sheraton is one of the 30-plus hotel brands of the renowned Marriott International group. The hotel in Palawan offers the essential amenities that a traveler might seek in a luxury resort. All the rooms are just steps from the beach, with a tech-friendly workspace, complimentary Wi-Fi,  and an ambiance that soothes into instant relaxation after a day of adventuring. The beds are signature Four Points by Sheraton Comfort Beds.

Four Points by Sheraton Palawan, Puerto Princesa.

The resort effectively uses its 5.25-hectare property by providing spacious areas for leisure and relaxation. Restful lounge areas dot the premises; there’s a 1,367 sq.m. pool with a swim-up bar, an on-premise spa, a 24-hour fitness center, and for parents who may need “me time,” the hotel offers Cub’s Club— a playroom with an indoor playground, supervised activities, and a safe environment for children to spend a few hours at play.

The resort is fully powered by solar energy, with 30% generated from its own solar panels and the remaining sourced from Sabang Renewable Energy Corporation (SREC), ensuring a sustainable and eco-friendly energy supply. It has a materials recovery facility, and a rainwater catchment system, and operates its water treatment facility. The staff’s uniforms come from Rurungan sa Tubod Foundation which teaches women from impoverished areas how to weave.

Evolution all-day dining restaurant

Additionally, Evolution, the all-day dining and buffet restaurant, uses local produce sourced from the resort’s organic garden, and its partner, Sheridan Organic Farm. Guests can book a tour and farm-to-table lunch for a chance to savor truly fresh and organic cuisine. Some guests may even opt to do a quick immersion in farm life by trying out plowing a rice field or harvesting vegetables. Many leave with a deeper respect for farmers and the relationship between man and nature.

What to do

With the all-important “where can we take you” covered, let’s talk about “what to do.” The Four Points Palawan works with community organizations that steward the various eco-tourism sites in the area to organize tours that allow guests to immerse themselves in the local culture and natural beauty.

Ugong Rock & Zip Line – Climb through limestone caves, feel the thrill of spelunking, then soar over lush landscapes on an exhilarating zip line ride!

The beach adjacent to the resort is a nesting haven for olive ridley and green sea turtles, and if a visit is timed just right there’s the chance to watch the eggs hatching. The Mangrove Paddleboat Tour is engaging and educational as visitors glide through a 1.2-kilometer stretch of mangrove waterways, and community guides share insights about the local ecosystem. Keen observers may spot monitor lizards sunning themselves on rocks, the Palawan Hornbill and other birds, snakes curled up on branches, and more. The Sabang Waterfall is 50 feet high and a 20-minute walk along the beach from the wharf. Tumbling over rocks and boulders, the water crashes into a rock pool on the beach. For an adrenaline rush, there’s the Puerto Princesa Sabang X Zipline.

Soaring 150 feet high and stretching 800 meters long, it offers breathtaking views of Sabang Beach. Adventure seekers will enjoy Ugong Rock. Or there’s the Sabang Jungle Trail, a 5-kilometer trek through a limestone karst forest alive with wildlife, beautiful dipterocarp trees, and small caves. The best thing about all of these activities is that they’re less than an hour from the Four Points Palawan, leaving enough time for sunning on the beach or lounging by the pool.

Sabang Mangrove Forest – Paddle through nature’s sanctuary and discover the rich biodiversity of Sabang’s serene mangrove forest.

Creating Extraordinary Moments at Century Park Hotel

With a range of amenities designed to enhance our experience, our stay turned out to be as memorable as the special moments we created at this exceptional hotel.

As a family, we experienced the joy of life’s treasured moments at Century Park Hotel, located in the heart of Manila. The warm welcome we received made us feel immediately at home, enveloping us like a cozy blanket. The cheerful smiles and friendly greetings from everyone created an atmosphere of genuine hospitality, allowing us to relax and settle in with ease.

Family fun at CPH.

Spacious and cozy room

The deluxe room we stayed in was remarkably spacious, featuring elegant furnishings and a cozy atmosphere. The bed was adorned with soft, plush linens, inviting us to sink in and unwind. After a long day of exploring, we experienced a rejuvenating sleep, allowing us to wake up refreshed and energized, ready to tackle the adventures planned for the following day. The room also boasted large windows that let in natural light, adding to the overall sense of comfort and tranquility.

Deluxe room with twin bed.

We particularly loved the luxurious bathtub, which was spacious enough for a relaxing soak, and it came with a generous selection of high-quality toiletries. The rich, fragrant bubble bath had a delightful scent that transformed our bathing experience into a spa-like retreat, while the perfectly curated assortment of shampoos, conditioners, and body washes made us feel pampered and rejuvenated.

Indulge in delightful culinary creations

The merienda was a delightful experience, especially as we savored the unique flavors of the special bibingka. This traditional Filipino rice cake, with its enticing aroma and golden-brown top, was perfectly cooked, exuding warmth and richness. Topped with a generous sprinkling of grated coconut and a drizzle of salted butter and muscovado sugar, each bite was a delicious blend of sweet and savory that left us wanting more. The atmosphere was lively, making the enjoyment of this tasty treat even more special.

We indulged in the delightful breakfast buffet at Cafe in the Park, where a vibrant assortment of dishes awaited our eager taste buds. The warm aroma of freshly baked pastries mingled with the rich scent of brewed coffee, while colorful fruits glistened like jewels on their platters. Pancakes stacked high, alongside crispy bacon and other Filipino and international dishes, creating a feast that was both visually stunning and utterly delicious.

Relaxing pool and inviting jacuzzi

We relaxed by the beautiful swimming pool, surrounded by lush greenery and comfortable lounge chairs, perfect for soaking up the sun or enjoying a refreshing cocktail.

The three of us enjoyed the warmth of the inviting jacuzzi, where the steamy water beckoned us with its promise of relaxation, creating an oasis of tranquility. The invigorating bubbles gently caressed our skin, releasing built-up tension and stress, leaving us rejuvenated and ready to face the world anew.

With a range of amenities designed to enhance our experience, our stay turned out to be as memorable as the special moments we created at this exceptional hotel. Each detail is crafted to inspire comfort and delight, transforming our visit into a tapestry of extraordinary moments.

Ruby’s Precious Moments 6th Anniversary Special Feature (Part 1)

My family and I love to travel, whether locally or to completely different countries. We enjoy exploring new places, experiencing various cultures, and tasting different foods. Before the pandemic, we traveled frequently and thought that our adventures would come to a halt. However, we were fortunate enough to have road trips and visit places, even if only through the windows of our car. Once restrictions eased and we could incorporate travel back into our busy schedules, we planned a long-awaited trip to the Alps. After months of planning and anticipation, we finally boarded our plane.

A Short Stay in Milan

We arrived at Malpensa Airport in Milan quite early, which allowed us ample time to make our way to the train that connects Malpensa to Milano Centrale, located over an hour away. Upon arriving at Milano Centrale, we were impressed by the station’s well-preserved interior, which gave us a sense of being transported back in time—if you disregard the modern trains, of course. Milano Centrale is often bustling with travelers, but the train schedules are well organized, even amidst the busy atmosphere. Inside the station, large screens display information about train arrivals and departures, including platforms, times, and any delays. However, these screens can only show limited information, so if your next train is a couple of hours away—like ours was—you might have to wait before it appears. With plenty of time on our hands, we treated ourselves to focaccia sandwiches at La Focacceria, which quickly became my favorite sandwich shop.

Having four pieces of luggage during this trip was a hassle, and it even led us to misplace an important shoulder bag that contained our passports. Fortunately, we caught the attention of the local police, who returned our passports to us just in time for our next train to Brig, Switzerland.

By this point, I was feeling tired and sleepy and craved a hot drink. The journey from Italy to Brig was long but beautifully scenic, with the Alps coming into view as we approached the northernmost parts of Italy. Italy comes to an end as you approach a long tunnel during the train ride. I managed to grab some sleep during these moments, only to be shaken awake by my parents, who urged me to look out the window. It felt like being transported to another world—everything was covered in snow, the majestic Alps surrounded us, and the trains appeared stunning against the white backdrop.

Finally in Switzerland

Stepping off the train was exciting, and walking on the snow was thrilling, but it was colder than in Italy. Dragging our luggage through the snow was exhausting. We initially had to wait another 30 minutes for our train to Zermatt to arrive. However, some kind men operating the Glacier Express, the famous scenic train of Switzerland, allowed us to board without reservation. It was nearly 5 PM by this time, and we were feeling restless, but this generous gentleman made our day and treated us just like the passengers who had reserved their seats. He explained that it had been a heavy snowfall that day, causing delays for the trains. This experience was my introduction to the Swiss people, and I can confidently say that this impression held true for the rest of our trip.

Train Rides to Zermatt

Trains to Zermatt typically depart from and arrive at Brig and Visp stations, which connect you to other locations in Switzerland. One drawback of staying in Zermatt is the one-and-a-half-hour train ride required to travel to various parts of the country. However, we appreciated these train journeys, as they allowed us to gradually begin and end our days while enjoying breathtaking views of snow-covered mountains, trees, and charming towns like St. Niklaus, which features a Santa-themed tower in honor of its namesake.

Zermatt, even at night, is a wonder. Zermatt is known for its majestic view of the Matterhorn, also known as the Toblerone Mountain, but this place is also a dream destination of many tourists as it offers a cozy vibe with its wood and stone houses, view of the Alps covered in snow, even in Summer, and car-less streets that make it pedestrian friendly. Zermatt is also a famous destination for people who love to ski. Numerous people of all ages wear ski gear, especially during winter. We would spend our Christmas Eve in Zermatt and even attend the Christmas Eve mass at the Parish church of St Mauritius just across the Zermatterhof and Zermatt Museum.

A Day as Seri and Captain Ri at Interlaken

The next day, we rode a train to Interlaken Ost, where we would begin our trip of the day. Interlaken is a famous town for Kdrama watchers, especially those who love Crash Landing on You (CLOY). Scenes from CLOY were shot here, and the famous dock scene where Captain Ri played his piano was shot at a village called Iseltwald. Iseltwald is a bus away from the train station and is a really quiet place. The dock is not hard to spot, once you get off the bus, just follow the people with you as they most probably will be taking pictures there as well, or you can walk straight from the bus stop towards the lake. If you want to take pictures at the iconic dock, it would cost you 5 CHF. A bit costly, but the pictures are worth it.

Back in Interlaken Ost, you can walk towards Interlaken West or ride another train. Walking is advisable as the place is very scenic and not too hard to navigate. After a few minutes of walking straight, a ginormous park will welcome you. In winter, this park is filled with snow and is completely white. This is also the landing spot for paragliders. Within the area are the monastery and Interlaken Castle. If you wish to visit Harder Kulm, which offers a great view of the place, a funicular is situated across a bridge along the walk from the station to Interlaken West.

The Gorgeous City of Bern

The next day, we set off to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. Bern is a large city and has a different vibe compared to Zermatt and Interlaken. It is considered one of the country’s most beautiful cities, boasting stunning architecture, a plethora of local shops, and a rich history embedded in the town itself. The old town of Bern is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and walking along its cobblestone streets feels like being transported back in time.

We spent the day wandering around this charming city and visited the iconic Zytglogge clock tower, the Federal Palace, and several churches along the way. Across the bridge from the casino, there is a collection of museums, including the Bernisches Historisches Museum and the Einstein Museum, which we explored for about an hour.

Bern is a wonderful place to get lost, as each street resembles a picture on a postcard, making you feel as though you are walking through a movie set. If you haven’t already noticed, Bern quickly became my favorite city in Switzerland, and I found myself missing it once we left. If you happen to get lost, don’t hesitate to ask the locals for directions with a smile!
