The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) makes it to the top 16 universities in the Philippines according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings in Asia for 2024. This recognition reflects PUP’s commitment to providing quality and high-impact education at par with global standards.
University President Dr. Manuel M. This is the first time PUP entered the world rankings alongside the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cebu, Far Eastern University (FEU), and Mindanao State University (MSU). Among the 16 universities included in the list, PUP is at top 7, securing a global rank within #551-600.
Early this year, PUP received a Three-Star rating from the QS Stars Rating System, recognizing its potential in achieving international education standards, conducting complex research activities, and implementing innovative pedagogical teaching. The University’s strengths and areas of expertise include excellent in employability and online learning; very good in teaching, academic development, and inclusiveness; and good in social responsibility. The Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND) program received a specialist criteria rating.
The QS World University Rankings feature 1,500 institutions across 104 countries. Its 20th edition implemented the largest methodological enhancement in introducing these three new metrics: sustainability, employment outcomes, and the International Research Network.
