SM Hotels’ Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo Marks Seven Years of Heartfelt Service

Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo officially marks its seventh year in the City of Love and Creative Gastronomy, celebrating a journey defined by Ilonggo hospitality, culinary showcase, and deep-rooted community partnerships.

The hotel’s continued success underscores the strength of the long-standing alliance between Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) and SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC). As the property celebrates this seven-year milestone, it reflects SMHCC’s larger commitment to developing world-class properties that boost local economies, foster regional tourism, and bring global hospitality standards to booming urban centers outside of Metro Manila.

“Seven years ago, we envisioned Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo as a landmark property that would add to the vibrant tourism landscape of Western Visayas,” said Ms. Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation. “Seeing it flourish into a beloved destination that marries global standards with local heart is immensely rewarding. This achievement is a testament to SMHCC’s enduring mission to create meaningful experiences and support sustainable community growth across the Philippines,” Ms. Angeles added.

Since its opening in 2019, the hotel has evolved into a cornerstone of Iloilo’s tourism landscape. This year’s anniversary theme, “Seven Years of Ilonggo Hospitality,” serves as a tribute to the warmth and authenticity that team members bring to every guest interaction.

Global Standards, Local Flavors

The past year has been marked by notable accomplishments that reflect the hotel’s pursuit of excellence while staying rooted in local identity. Most notably, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo earned the Safehotels Certification, an internationally recognized benchmark affirming the property’s rigorous safety and security standards, while reinforcing its commitment to delivering trusted, world-class hospitality.

At the same time, the hotel continued to elevate regional flavors on the national stage. During the 16th National Food Showdown, the property’s culinary team earned a Gold medal for its signature Bibingka and Silver for Valenciana in the Professional Category, celebrating recipes deeply inspired by Ilonggo heritage. “Food is more than nourishment. It is one of the strongest connections we have to our culture,” said Rouel Guanzon, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo. “These recognitions honor the passion and dedication of our chefs, who continuously elevate the traditions that inspire us every day,” Mr. Guanzon added.

Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo team during their anniversary party on April 27, 2026.

Beyond culinary recognition, the property has embraced innovation as a way to deepen guest engagement and create more meaningful experiences. Recently, the hotel introduced StayPlease, a digital platform that allows guests to conveniently browse menus and order dining services directly from their devices that bring added ease and personalization to every stay.

That same spirit of innovation extends into preserving and sharing local narratives. Through Beyond the Plate, a masterclass developed in partnership with the Iloilo MICE Center, the hotel provided students and digital creators with opportunities to explore gastronomic storytelling and discover how food can become a medium for culture and identity.

The property also launched Panubli-on, a documentary-style series unveiled at its signature restaurant, Áni, spotlighting the stories behind iconic local dishes and the families who preserve them. Featured narratives included the Varonas family’s Adobado nga Lukon, Ms. Pinky Gorriceta-Jalandoni’s Bibingka, and the culinary heritage behind Kap Ising’s Pancit Molo.

Together, these initiatives reflect Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo’s belief that hospitality goes beyond service. Rather, it is also about creating spaces where traditions are celebrated, stories are shared, and communities remain connected.

Empowering People, Extending Care

The anniversary celebration also shines a spotlight on the individuals driving the hotel’s continued success. Ms. Lucky Alunan was recently recognized as the Front of House Winner at the SMHCC President’s Go Beyond Awards.

Meanwhile, General Manager Rouel Guanzon continues to strengthen industry collaboration through his leadership roles as Public Information Officer of the Iloilo Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts Association (IHRRA) and Committee Director of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Iloilo.

Beyond professional excellence, the hotel’s anniversary observance reflected its commitment to extending hospitality beyond its walls. In a gesture of gratitude to the city and community it has called home for seven years, the Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo team recently visited the Iloilo City Pound and Animal Shelter, where employees donated essential supplies and spent time supporting local rescue efforts alongside volunteers. “At its core, hospitality is about care,” Guanzon shared. “Whether we are serving a guest, supporting our local business community, or looking out for our four-legged friends, we believe these acts of kindness are what make Iloilo special,” Mr. Guanzon emphasized.

The week-long celebration culminated in a heartfelt anniversary gathering held on April 27, 2026, honoring the team members whose passion and dedication continue to shape the hotel’s story. The following day, Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo hosted a commemorative luncheon in recognition of its valued media partners, whose continued support has helped share the property’s journey and milestones through the years.

As Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo enters its eighth year, the property remains committed to delivering exceptional experiences rooted in heartfelt Ilonggo hospitality while continuing to celebrate local culture, empower communities, and create meaningful connections. More than a destination, the hotel strives to remain a true home away from home that blends modern comfort with the unmistakable warmth and grace that define Iloilo.

The Lind Hotels Helps Reshape Lifestyle Travel in the Philippines

Independent Filipino hospitality brands are beginning to reshape lifestyle travel in the Philippines—and The Lind Hotels is helping lead the shift.

Long overshadowed by larger regional markets dominated by international operators, the Philippines is increasingly gaining recognition for a new generation of homegrown hospitality brands focused on design, wellness, personalised service, and experience-led stays.

Among the companies helping drive that momentum is The Lind Hotels, an independently developed Filipino hospitality group that has steadily built a reputation through lifestyle-led destinations, strong culinary programming, wellness, and a distinctly Filipino approach to hospitality.

“Our philosophy is that Philippine hospitality can resonate globally while still remaining proudly Filipino,” said Pierre Henrichs, COO of The Lind Hotels. “Authenticity, warmth, creativity, and emotional connection are what travellers increasingly remember most.”

At the centre of the group’s success is The Lind Boracay, located on White Beach Station 1, widely regarded as Boracay’s most exclusive stretch of shoreline. The property is distinguished not only by its rare direct beachfront access, but also by an evolving guest experience that places intuitive hospitality and meaningful guest connection at the heart of the stay.

A defining milestone came in 2025 when the MICHELIN Guide made its Philippine debut. In a landmark moment for both the company and the wider industry, The Lind Boracay became the first and only hotel in Boracay to be featured by the guide, positioning the independent Filipino brand alongside internationally recognised hospitality names.

A key part of the resort’s evolution is its long-standing collaboration with The Spa Wellness, one of the Philippines’ pioneering wellness operators and the country’s first spa brand to receive Superbrand status. An accredited member of the International Spa Association (ISPA), The Spa Wellness brings an established wellness philosophy into the resort environment, helping shape a more holistic guest experience centred around restoration, balance, and meaningful care.

Over the past decade, the group has continued refining every aspect of the guest journey, from food and beverage and wellness to lifestyle programming and personalised service.

The company’s recent evolution forms part of a broader reassessment undertaken during its tenth anniversary year, when The Lind Hotels also introduced a refreshed brand identity centred around human connection, meaningful hospitality, and more experience-driven travel.

The rebrand marked a return to the company’s core philosophy: fostering stronger people-to-people relationships across teams, travel partners, suppliers, and guests, while placing greater emphasis on the guest journey from the very first stage of trip planning through to the stay itself.

“As part of our ten-year milestone, we went back to the drawing board and asked ourselves where we were ten years ago and where we are today,” Henrichs said. “The entire brand has been refreshed. More than anything, we wanted to return to the human side of hospitality and focus on genuine connection at every touchpoint of the guest experience. Hospitality is about continual improvement and adapting to what modern travellers are looking for.”

Looking ahead, the company’s future developments in Coron and Siargao reflect both confidence in Philippine tourism and growing international demand for more meaningful, nature-driven, and experience-led travel.

At a time when travellers are increasingly prioritising authenticity over standardisation, brands like The Lind Hotels are helping demonstrate that world-class hospitality experiences can be created in the Philippines while remaining closely connected to local culture, people, and place.

“We believe the Philippines has the potential to become one of the world’s great hospitality destinations,” Henrichs said. “There is incredible warmth here, extraordinary natural beauty, and a growing confidence among Filipino brands to create experiences that feel globally relevant while still remaining distinctly local.”

Located right across from the Harbor Point Mall and Ayala Malls, you’re just steps from amazing local food, premium shopping, and the beach boardwalk.

Immediately, the eclectic spirit of ibis Styles wraps around you. The bold geometric patterns and coastal tones beautifully mirror the bay outside, but it’s the grand digital wall they call it Metaverse in the lobby that truly steals the show.

Personalized welcome through Metaverse.

In a world where technology can feel cold, seeing your name flashed across the screen in a warm, personalized welcome changes everything. It turns a standard check-in into a heartfelt homecoming, making you feel less like a guest on a screen and more like a long-awaited friend.

A Symphony of Flavors and Music at Manifesto

Dining at ibis Styles isn’t just about refueling—it is the heart of the entire experience, anchored by its signature restaurant, Manifesto. More than just a dining space, Manifesto is a culinary haven that serves up the good food all day long.

Bread station during Breakfast Buffet.

The breakfast spread is a loving tribute to global diversity and local heritage, waking up your senses with everything from comforting, regional staples to familiar international classics.

Lunch is a hearty, thoughtful affair designed to fuel your daily adventures, while dinner slows the pace down, inviting you to savor the night. Every plate tells a story of meticulous craft, anchored by premium ingredients and artfully styled presentations that are as much a feast for the eyes as they are for the palate.

Acoustic Nights at Manifesto.

When Friday and Saturday nights arrive, the restaurant hosts Acoustic Night—where guests can enjoy incredible food paired with a live, unplugged soundtrack for the perfect weekend vibe.

During our visit, we were treated to a bespoke dining experience meticulously crafted by Chef Allan Manglapus. Every course was a masterclass in flavor, from the crisp, vibrantly fresh salad to the decadent, velvety pasta. The highlight, however, was the beautifully prepared, mouthwatering seafood, followed by a dessert that provided the perfect, indulgent finale to a truly excellent dinner.

This author gained valuable insights from Chef Manglapus on how the hotel guest experience and F&B outlets form a single hospitality journey. “Even as a restaurant partner, I believe the dining experience is deeply linked to the hotel’s overall guest experience. The restaurant thus plays a major role in shaping how guests remember their stay,” Manglapus said.

Chef Allan Manglapus’ goal is to bring creativity and culinary identity while still contributing positively to the property’s overall hospitality experience.

He explained that ensuring a seamless transition from the front desk to dining starts with collaboration. While the restaurant may operate independently, strong communication between the hotel and F&B teams is essential. “Sharing guest preferences, VIP notes, special occasions, or dietary needs lets us personalize the experience and make guests feel genuinely cared for.”

Chef Manglapus says that keeping hospitality standards consistent is key. “The warmth and professionalism a guest receives at check-in should continue when they enter the restaurant. That means training the restaurant team not only on food and service, but also on understanding the hotel’s guest profile and service culture,” he said. “At the end of the day, guests remember how they felt throughout their entire stay, and the dining experience is often one of the strongest emotional touchpoints.”

Chef Manglapus keeps up with the latest culinary and hospitality trends. He knows the industry is changing fast, with new guest demographics, a focus on wellness, sustainability, and a growing demand for personalized experiences. To stay current, he researches food trends, follows new culinary movements, attends industry events, and, most importantly, pays close attention to guest feedback and dining habits.

He keeps a keen eye on trends such as plant-based and health-conscious dining, champions sustainable sourcing, minimizes food waste, celebrates seasonal, local ingredients, and honors diverse diets and cultures.

When introducing new ideas to a property, he always considers the hotel’s market, guest profile, and overall brand positioning. “I believe innovation should feel authentic and enhance the guest experience rather than just follow trends for the sake of it,” he said. He usually introduces concepts gradually through chef specials, seasonal menus, tasting events, or collaborative experiences. These allow both the hotel and restaurant teams to evaluate guest response while keeping the offerings fresh and exciting.

As a chef, Manglapus goal is “to bring creativity and culinary identity while still contributing positively to the property’s overall hospitality experience.”

Where Style Meets Comfort

A hotel is truly defined by how well you sleep, and ibis Styles absolutely nails it. The real highlight is the bed—with a supportive mattress and crisp, fresh sheets that practically guarantee a deep, refreshing night’s rest.

Even inside the room, there’s a personalized welcome. This author truly appreciates it!

Throughout the room, bright, stylized design meets clever storage tricks that keep your luggage neatly tucked out of the way. It is a clean, clutter-free, and eye-catching space that gives you exactly what you need, right where you need it.

The room’s vibrant design and colors are pleasing to the eye, making you want to stay longer.

The Ugga Mugga Experience

Nestled perfectly in the hotel premises, Ugga Mugga is a chic cafe nook, which serves as the ultimate mid-afternoon refuge.

Snack time at Ugga Mugga.

Whether you’re pairing your favorite brew with a decadent, artisanal pastry, or sharing a plate of delicious finger foods while trading stories with loved ones, it’s a beautifully curated space where time slows down just enough to recharge. Definitely, we enjoyed the coffee and snack experience in the hotel’s trendy café.

Coastal Stroll at Boardwalk

The hotel’s location is a prime asset, sitting just a short, relaxing stroll from the iconic Subic Bay Boardwalk. Perfect for morning jogs or sunset walks, the nearby waterfront offers a gentle sea breeze and scenic views of distant ships, providing a tranquil contrast to the hotel’s upbeat energy.

Ultimately, ibis Styles Subic is a thoughtfully designed experience centered on impeccable style and total comfort. From excellent dining at Manifesto to cozy, stylish accommodations, every detail ensures a relaxing and remarkably memorable stay. The Lind Hotels Expands Beyond Boracay

Independent Filipino brand sets sights on Coron and Siargao as it builds a multi-island portfolio.

The Lind Hotels is expanding beyond Boracay, with Coron set to open next year and Siargao to follow.

The move marks a clear next phase for the independent Filipino brand, as it evolves from a single standout property into a carefully curated, multi-island portfolio shaped by a guest-first and adaptive approach.

The Lind Boracay, set on the prime stretch of Station 1 White Beach on the Philippines’ most famous paradise island, has long been the foundation of the brand. The reputation of the property, which was the first MICHELIN Guide-listed hotel on Boracay, has been built not only on location, but on a way of thinking that places the guest at the centre of every decision.

The Lind Boracay occupies a prime location on Boracay’s world famous White Sand beach.

Indeed, the MICHELIN Guide recognition remains a meaningful milestone that continues to shape its positioning today.

Rather than following the rigid frameworks of international operators, the hotel was conceived as a place its founders would want to stay in themselves—personal, considered, and constantly evolving.

That mindset has translated into strong guest loyalty and steady growth, with repeat visitors forming a core part of the property’s success. Over the years, the hotel has continued to evolve in response to guest feedback, from introducing new dining concepts such as authentic Thai venue Yim to refining wellness and leisure offerings across the property.

“The question we always ask ourselves is simple: if we were the guest, what would we enjoy?” says Pierre Henrichs, COO of The Lind Hotels. “That mindset has guided everything we’ve built, and it continues to shape how we grow.”

The Lind Coron marks the first step in this next chapter. Slated to open next year, the new property will introduce a more personalized, villa-led experience, set on a peninsula that offers a sense of seclusion while remaining connected to the mainland. Designed to feel distinct from Boracay’s lifestyle-driven energy, the development will feature multiple restaurants, a dive centre, and a broader mix of recreational and wellness facilities.

Views from the Coron resort showcase a pristine natural environment that has made the island a world-class destination for scuba diving.

The Lind Siargao, meanwhile, reflects a similar strategic approach: identifying destinations with strong appeal but limited high-quality supply. Often referred to as the surf capital of The Philippines, the teardrop-shaped island in Mindanao Province is one of the nation’s most idyllic hideaways. With few comparable properties currently operating on the island, the project represents an opportunity for The Lind Hotels to establish an early foothold in a fast-evolving market.

Often referred to as the surf capital of The Philippines, Siargao is one of the nation’s most idyllic hideaways.

For the brand, expansion is not about scale for its own sake. Each location is selected for its long-term potential and its ability to support a distinct interpretation of the Lind experience.

“We chose to remain independent because it allows us to move quickly, adapt, and build something that truly reflects who we are,” says Henrichs. “We are not trying to grow everywhere at once. We want to do it properly, step by step.”

That independence has become a defining strength. Without the constraints of a global management structure, The Lind has been able to respond to changing guest expectations, refine its offering in real time, and maintain a clear sense of identity across its operations.

Looking ahead, the brand’s ambitions extend beyond its current pipeline. “We’ve built something in Boracay that people connect with,” says Henrichs. “As we expand into Coron and Siargao, the priority is to keep that same spirit—independent, adaptable, and always shaped around the guest.”

Whether you are looking for a weekend of culinary indulgence or a quiet corner to bond with your loved ones, Richmonde Hotel Ortigas is ready to welcome you.

In the heart of Ortigas Center’s frantic commercial hub, finding a space that radiates genuine warmth is a rare find. However, a recent weekend staycation led us to a hotel that didn’t just provide a room, but offered a genuine sense of belonging.  For those seeking to swap the urban clamor for a tranquil, family-oriented haven, Richmonde Hotel Ortigas stands as the sanctuary you’ve been looking for.

The lobby of the Richmonde Hotel Ortigas is an inviting, warm, and classic-styled space designed as a quiet, cozy sanctuary from the busy Ortigas Central Business District.

Relax with Richie at the hotel lobby.
The Lobby Cafe is described as a convenient, quiet “work-from-café” spot and a cozy venue for casual meetings or quick, light dining.

The Warmth of Genuine Hospitality

The hospitality was immediate. From the very first greeting at the entrance, the stiff air of “service protocol” vanished, replaced by the effortless warmth of being welcomed home.

Family selfie!

Richmonde Hotel Ortigas perfectly blends modern efficiency with heartfelt warmth. Whether it’s their prompt service or the surprise delivery of sweets, the staff’s effortless kindness creates a stay that feels truly like home.

A “Homey” Design for Real Living

What truly sets this stay apart is the layout of the space. So many city hotels feel like temporary stopovers, but here, the “homey” atmosphere was built into the architecture.

The spacious room on the 15th floor.

Stepping into our 15th-floor sanctuary, we were greeted by premium amenities and a panoramic cityscape that felt more like an invitation than a backdrop. The balance of plush furnishings and soft lighting transformed the spacious living area into a genuine home, where the city’s distant hum only deepened our sense of connection.

Excellence on the Menu

A stay is only as good as its flavors, and the culinary offerings were a definitive highlight. Excellence was the standard for breakfast. We enjoyed a breakfast spread that featured a hearty local favorites that felt like a warm hug in a plate.

The author at Richmonde Cafe.
Every meal felt like a celebration of local ingredients and expert technique, proving that you don’t need to leave the building to find the best food in the district.

The Heart of the Stay: Family Bonding

The weekend was really about the moments in between—where the heart of our stay was simply being together.

Family breakfast at Richmonde Cafe.
We spent hours together at Richmonde Cafe, and even more time just lounging in the room, sharing stories and enjoying the rare luxury of unscheduled time. The hotel provided the perfect backdrop for these small, significant memories. It gave us the physical and mental space to just be a family.

Your Invitation to Stay

If the pace of life has been feeling a little too frantic lately, consider this your invitation. You don’t need to travel far to find a place that feels worlds away. Whether you are looking for a weekend of culinary indulgence or a quiet corner to bond with your loved ones, this Ortigas gem is ready to welcome you.

Come for the convenience of the city, but stay for the hospitality that makes you feel like you never left home. Book your stay and rediscover the joy of a perfect city retreat.
