Christmas Arch of Lights in Lagayen, Abra

The province of Abra has been known for its splendid Christmas festivities, and Lagayen, Abra is just the place to be at Christmas. Their Christmas Arch of Lights was formally opened on December 6, 2021, which presents the theme, “Old Churches in Luzon.” It symbolizes the people’s strong foundation of friendship and unity as they strive to keep the Christmas spirit alive despite the pandemic.

Every arch is decorated with colorful Christmas lights, each donning its specific design made from a variety of ornaments. The arches include the ancient Paoay Church and the historical Barasoain Church, among others.

The Arch of Lights is open from 7 PM to 10 PM, and visitors are allowed to enter, provided that they bring their vaccination cards. Kids ages 11 and below are also allowed, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Christmas Village in San Fernando City, Pampanga

San Fernando City has been known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines, but they have certainly outdone themselves this year. Their Nights of Lights Christmas Village matches the Kapampangan enthusiasm and holiday spirit perfectly.

Located at The Orchid Gardens Resort complex, the Christmas Village proudly showcases huge Christmas decorations and lanterns, all partnered with plenty of artificial snow. It also honors Filipino Christmas traditions as it also contains kiosks that sell holiday delicacies such as puto bumbong and bibingka.

The Christmas Village has featured a mix of modern and Kapampangan Christmas. It’s specifically designed for the people to experience a change of scenery, especially since the lockdown has rendered people their homes.

Nights of Lights Christmas Village is open daily, from 5 PM to 10 PM. Children are allowed to visit the village, and there are no vaccination cards required, as long as safety protocols are followed.

 

Tunnel of lights in Taal, Batangas

Batanguenos have certainly proved that no tragedy can ever dampen their Christmas spirit. After the height of the pandemic and the Taal Volcano explosion last year, the municipality’s traditional “pailaw” is finally back on track.

The town plaza has been adorned with the festive tunnel of lights that has attracted people from the country, including the 60 feet Christmas tree shining brightly in the night. The Minor Basilica of St. Martin De Tours has also been lit with Christmas lights, highlighting the features of the oldest church in Asia.

The plaza is well lit and open from 5 PM to 10 PM, but will only allow vaccinated people inside the grounds. Due to safety protocols, they will only allow 4000 people inside the town plaza to see the marvelous Christmas lights display.

 

Rockwell Mall’s festive Christmas decorations

Aside from their signature Christmas car raffle, Rockwell Mall has been continuously surprising people with their high-end Christmas decorations. The arches and columns of the Power Plant Mall are adorned with bright ornaments, alongside huge Christmas trees that are placed in various areas of the mall.

Being one of the grandest malls in the country, Rockwell Mall has taken its Christmas festivities to a higher level as their Christmas car raffle is back while giving other instant rewards to loyal shoppers.
