Isidro and Lebajo’s recent works will be on view from October 22 to November 5, 2020, at the León Gallery International in Makati.
Two of the most celebrated and respected figures in the local art scene are together in one significant exhibit called ICONIC – featuring master abstractionist Raul Isidro and master surrealist Raul Lebajo. Having the same moniker and dexterity in painting, they are both proud of their roots – a native of the island of Samar.
Typically, Isidro’s opus could evoke the magnificent scenery of his hometown, Calbayog City. But for this exhibit, his works are evidence of his signature strokes, vibrant color disintegrations, and sophisticated shapes inspired by nature’s ephemeral deviations.
Born and raised in Tacloban City, Lebajo’s works are characterized by his trademark surreal touches as well as solid and persuasive colors. His pieces are dreamlike and peculiar, largely influenced by his lush surroundings and mastery of his subjects, Lebajo transports us to his world.
Isidro and Lebajo’s painting careers span over fifty years and counting. Each has become successful for their extremely ingenious and genteelly lively art pieces arousing contemplative and surreal temperaments.
Their recent works will be on view from October 22 to November 5, 2020, at the León Gallery International in Makati. León Gallery International collaborates with DF Art Agency for this two-man show.
